Book Review: The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
The Old Man and the Sea is a short but powerful novella by
Ernest Hemingway. It's a story about an aging fisherman named Santiago who has
gone 84 days without catching a fish. He's considered an unlucky fisherman by
the other fishermen in the village, and his young apprentice, Manolin, has been
forbidden by his parents to sail with him anymore.
I just finished reading this book, and it's one of those
books that has stuck with me already. I love the way Hemingway writes about the
sea and the fishermen. He really captures the essence of Santiago's struggle
and his determination to never give up.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys
a good story with a strong message. It's a book that will stay with you long
after you finish reading it.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars. It's a great book, but it's not
perfect. I think the ending is a bit too depressing, but overall I really
enjoyed it.
I hope you check it out!
